SYSTEMS ENGINEER

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Instrumentation Engineering is seeking well qualified candidates to join our systems engineering team in Oakland, NJ. As a systems engineer you will be involved in all phases of test system design, including: requirements generation, hardware design, software development and system integration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Hardware design and development of automated/functional test systems and fixtures
• Interface well with program managers, manufacturing managers, and team members
• Develop detailed specifications that can be used in System Integration and Transfer phases
• Prime technical resource from the development phase to production transfer
Participate in Engineering Design/Peer Reviews to ensure compliance to standard practices
Lead Associate Engineers in Development Phase and Integration
• Software development and integration of automated test and measurement systems including:
Instrument Control, Data Acquisition and complex measurements using National Instruments
LabVIEW (Other languages a plus).
System self test development
Acceptance Test Procedure development
System documentation including software functional specification and user’s manual
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A qualified candidate will possess a BS degree in an engineering discipline and 3+ years experience. Candidates must be able to effectively communicate with customers to capture requirements as well as with other IE employees in a team engineering environment. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong initiative and willingness to learn new skills. US citizenship required.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Instrumentation Engineering is seeking well qualified candidates to join our systems engineering team in Oakland, NJ. As a mechanical engineer you will be involved in all phases of test system fixture and automation systems design, including: requirements generation, hardware design and system integration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Mechanical design and development of functional test system fixtures and automated handling systems including:
• Design of unique, high precision mechanical fixtures/assemblies for both functional and environmental
testing
Design of automated handling systems utilizing a combination of pneumatic, vacuum or motor driven
linear motion technologies
Troubleshooting of prototype mechanical assemblies to ensure that customer specifications are met
Preparation of top-level mechanical assembly drawings (systems layout) and subassembly drawings
Coordinate the purchase of subcontracted mechanical assemblies based on IE designs. Activity
includes determining what assemblies are to be made by subcontractor, purchasing off-the-shelf
mechanical parts, and coordinating supplier delivery.
Assist in the development of quotations for new designs including engineering labor hours, outside
contractor costs, material pricing, lead times, etc.
Assist in directing and supervising the fabrication of mechanical parts in the production area.
• Lead or participate in design reviews with the customer’s team

SALES/APPLICATION ENGINEERS

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Instrumentation Engineering, a world leader in Automatic Test System Solutions, is seeking talented and dynamic individuals to join our growing team as Sales/Application Engineers in these locations – New York/New Jersey Metro, New England, Chicago, and Southwest.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Establish new accounts and service existing accounts by identifying potential customers, and planning
and organizing sales call schedule
• Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and
actual customers and other persons in a position to understand requirements
• Provide product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information and support to customers
• Gain customer acceptance by explaining cost reductions and operations improvements
• Prepare technical proposals by studying test plans, procedures and related documents, and through
consultation with engineers and other technical personnel
• Prepare sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and
engineering and application trends
• Assist in establishing sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas and projecting
expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products
• Contribute to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must
be addressed
• Required to travel approximately 60%, including overnights

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A qualified candidate will possess a Bachelors degree in EE, CE, or CS or equivalent education with 2-5 years experience in related field. Experience in development of test system software using LabVIEW, Lab Windows/CVI or Visual Basic required. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, a strong customer focus and be self-motivated. You will grow existing accounts and develop new accounts by utilizing your combination of technical and sales skills. US citizenship required.

DESIGN DRAFTSMAN

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Instrumentation Engineering is seeking well qualified candidates to join our growing Oakland, NJ facility. As a Design Draftsman you will design/draft assigned projects to ensure they conform to the technical and professional requirements of the company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Prepare component, assembly and cable harness drawings using AutoCAD and Bills of Materials
• Maintain drawing files
• Perform tolerance stackups of mating parts and assemblies
• Maintain Engineering files to ISO standards
• Review R&D and engineering drawings, and prepare final production drawings and Bills of Materials for
production and materials planning.
• Assist Engineering in new product design and product improvement

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A qualified candidate will possess an Associates degree or equivalent experience and a minimum 1+ years of drafting experience. Candidates must have a detailed knowledge of AutoCAD, conventional drafting standards, and tolerancing. Must be able to communicate and work well with other IE employees in a team engineering environment and be able to demonstrate a strong initiative and willingness to learn new skills. US citizenship required.

PRODUCTION PLANNER

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Instrumentation Engineering is seeking well qualified candidates to join our growing Oakland, NJ facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Thorough knowledge of MS Excel
• Ability to produce spreadsheets, formulas and charts/graphs in Excel
• Ability to coordinate and schedule a production department
• Experience with manufacturing in a high volume environment
• Plan inventory levels, schedule production, release work orders
• Monitor all open work orders
• Coordinate material requirements with Purchasing Department/Inventory Control, and manufacturing
operations
• Ability to work independently
• Must be well organized and give attention to detail
